Armchair BEA: Day One! Introductions

Hello there! I signed up a little late for Armchair BEA, but I figure I will participate as much as possible, especially since I can't go to the actual BEA. I hope to next year, though!

So for any new visitors, or any curious followers, I'm going to do an introduction post...

My name is Amanda. I'm 23, live in Southwestern Ohio, and work in a library. I also sell Avon.. but the library is the real money maker, sorta. With the bad economy, I can't find a full time position, so I work at the library part time, and reviewing and blogging take up the rest of my time. I occasionally participate in my local community theatre, and actually just finished doing a musical. It's been such a big part of my life for the past few months, and the show was so life-changing and amazing.. that I'm not sure how I'm going to deal with it being over! But enough about that, let's talk about books!

What type of books I enjoy: I love love love series! I especially like urban fantasy series.. or paranormal romance series, but as long as each book doesn't feature the same person. I fall in love with characters easily, but an entire romance series featuring the same person over and over can grate on the nerves. I enjoy romance in general, with contemporary and paranormal being the top favs. I also love Young Adult books, preferably paranormal or romance.. though I've really gotten into this Dystopian YA trend. I just can't read a bunch all at once, it can get awfully depressing!

Some series/books I love:
The Dark-Hunter series by Sherrilyn Kenyon
Pretty much anything by Katie MacAlister
The Argeneau Vampires series by Lynsay Sands
The Jessica Darling series by Megan McCafferty
The Night Huntress Series by Jeaniene Frost
The Rough Riders series by Lorelei James
The Fallen series by Thomas Sniegoski
"The Restorer" by Amanda Stevens
"Master of None" by Sonya Bateman

And gosh, tons more!

Well our reading tastes are very different, but I understand what you mean about the theater. I haven't done that since high school, but I'm in a community concert band and it is such a blast.

Nice to "meet" you! I grew up in southwest Ohio, and my parents still live there. I did musical theatre all through high school and college, and I miss it now! I hope you get to do more shows soon!
