About ROAR (Stormheart #1):

New York Times bestselling author Cora Carmack's young adult debut: Roar.

In a land ruled and shaped by violent magical storms, power lies with those who control them.

Aurora Pavan comes from one of the oldest Stormling families in existence. Long ago, the ungifted pledged fealty and service to her family in exchange for safe haven, and a kingdom was carved out from the wildlands and sustained by magic capable of repelling the world’s deadliest foes. As the sole heir of Pavan, Aurora's been groomed to be the perfect queen. She’s intelligent and brave and honorable. But she’s yet to show any trace of the magic she’ll need to protect her people.

To keep her secret and save her crown, Aurora’s mother arranges for her to marry a dark and brooding Stormling prince from another kingdom. At first, the prince seems like the perfect solution to all her problems. He’ll guarantee her spot as the next queen and be the champion her people need to remain safe. But the more secrets Aurora uncovers about him, the more a future with him frightens her. When she dons a disguise and sneaks out of the palace one night to spy on him, she stumbles upon a black market dealing in the very thing she lacks—storm magic. And the people selling it? They’re not Stormlings. They’re storm hunters.

Legend says that her ancestors first gained their magic by facing a storm and stealing part of its essence. And when a handsome young storm hunter reveals he was born without magic, but possesses it now, Aurora realizes there’s a third option for her future besides ruin or marriage. She might not have magic now, but she can steal it if she’s brave enough.

Challenge a tempest. Survive it. And you become its master.

~ EXCERPT ~
As Colton set the champagne on the island, Crockett said hello to the kitchen staff. Movement on the screened porch caught his eye. Alexandra and Colton’s fiancée rose from the sofa and hugged. Though the women had been sitting in the dark, he recognized Alex right away.
   And he couldn’t look away.
“How long has it been since you’ve seen Alexandra?” Colton asked.
“Eleven years. She’d just graduated high school.”
The two women scooted inside. “Too cold.” Brigit’s teeth chattered and Colton pulled her close.
Crockett had liked Brigit immediately. Petite, blonde and crazy smart, she was Colton’s equal in every way that mattered. But more than that, she made him happy.
Alexandra’s eyes grew wide. “Crockett.” Her blue lips quivered.
Blood pounded through his veins. She’s gorgeous. Large, caramel eyes blinked up at him. Dark brown hair flowed over her bare shoulders. Her elegant red holiday dress showed off her womanly curves, but her breathtaking beauty captured his heart.
“Hello, Goth Girl.” As they stared into each other’s eyes, he felt like he’d come home. And eleven long years compressed into mere minutes. He remembered how her eyes sparkled when she smiled at him, or that her sweet kisses could soothe his karate injuries. And how she’d undo him with her passion.
He smiled. Her gaze slid from his eyes to his mouth, then back into his eyes. The corners of her lips lifted. Then, a flash of anger shadowed her pretty face.
She flicked her head and squared her shoulders. Alexandra Mitus in defense mode. His heart tightened. That rigid posture had been his last image of her. Goddammit. She’s still pissed at me.
“Thanks for talking, Brigit,” she said, her attention still fastened on Crockett. “Excuse me, I’m going to check on Mom.” She walked away. Before vanishing around the corner, she glanced back at him.
   He grinned. Not that pissed.
***
Safely out of view, Alexandra heaved in a shaky breath while trying to appear nonchalant. But she was on fire. Crockett Wilde had shorted her mind. She hated the power he had over her. Always had. My god, he’s gorgeous.
From the moment she’d laid eyes on him, at fourteen, he’d rocked her world. The summer after she’d graduated high school, they’d fallen crazy in love, or so she’d thought.
Seeing him now had awakened the best memories and the worst feelings. Clearly, time had been good to Crockett Wilde. Gangly no more, his massive, sculpted body was eye candy for her lonely soul. She’d always found him handsome, but when he’d pinned her with those baby blues she knew she was in trouble. His chiseled cheekbones and strong jawline made looking away impossible. Like years ago, his undeniably sexy accent wove a ribbon around her heart.

Review: RUTHLESS KING by Meghan March!

My Review: Wow, guys. Once again, Meghan March proves herself to be to be the queen of smut. I could not put this down. The whole book left me feeling so conflicted. How can I hate Keira's situation, yet be so turned on at the same time? Just more evidence showing that March knows what she's doing. She can take a difficult subject and make you fall in love.

I honestly don't know how I'm going to survive until the next book. I think this series makes me even more scared of Lachlan... yet also very, very turned on. I refuse to spoil anything, so I won't go into any more detail. But you guys simply MUST read this - now!

Cover Lovin': *Fans self* Well done.

Recommendation: You can start this series with no prior knowledge of Lachlan, or the previous series this is a spin-off from. But, there is a cliffhanger, so beware!

Final Rating: FOUR out of FIVE stars (4/5)!! Oh my gosh, this book. I need more now!

Happy Reading!

“Your Highness, please back away. In fact, it would be best if you left the room altogether.” Felix put himself between me and Roberts. “Kelsey, I need you to push her down. Push her back down for a few moments. Marcus will be back soon and he’s going to take care of you. Being around those angels unsettled you. I don’t know if you noticed, but at the end of the meeting, your ward fell off. You didn’t have it on when Oliver shook your hand. He’s unbalanced and now you are, too. It’s like a contagion for someone like you. Oliver’s illness has called up your inner wolf and she’s angry.” “Perhaps if I touch her,” Henri began. “I’m an academic. I don’t have the same connection she has with Marcus, but I might be able to help.” “I’m not unbalanced.” It didn’t matter that my hands were shaking and they had been ever since I’d left the angels behind. “I’m going to talk to the wolf whether you like it or not. He’s been handling silver. It’s the only reason his hands wouldn’t have healed. Even then, a couple of hours would have done it. Unless the freaking silver he held came straight from Heaven. What about it, Roberts? How did you spend last night?” The wolf was shaking his head. “I don’t know.” That wasn’t an answer I was willing to accept. I was about to explain that to everyone when Chad stepped up and got in my face. “I’m taking him out of here now,” Chad explained. “You’ll let me or we’re going to have trouble.” I was ready for trouble. I was fairly sure I grinned, the idea of fighting a vamp lifting my spirits high. For the first time in what felt like hours, I went still. “You’re not going anywhere.” Chad turned, his shoulders squaring, and I felt the world begin to bend around me. Chad belongs to one of the rarest classes of vampire—the magicians. As far as I knew, he was the only one walking the night at this time. He could form illusions so real you could taste food, feel imaginary rain on your skin, utterly believe whatever he wanted you to believe. I’d come up against him before. I might be one of the only people in the world who could see through him. “It won’t work,” I said calmly as reality seemed to go dark and I heard the hissing of snakes all around me. “Do you not remember what happened the last time you pulled this shit on me? It took three tranqs to take me down. I don’t think you have those on you today.” “I won’t need them.” Chad lifted his hand and the world shifted. “Holy shit,” Casey said, climbing up on his desk. “What the fuck is happening?” Snakes were happening. They were crawling from the woodwork, twitching and hissing my way. The fibers of the carpet beneath my feet lengthened and formed more snakes until they were a menacing mass, threatening everyone in the room. Well, except for Chad, who had lifted his husband into his arms and prepared to take him away. I let my wolf loose a bit. She knew this was all an illusion. That primitive part of my brain that Chad was accessing, the lizard brain that merely wanted to survive, was taken over by the wolf inside me. The alpha wolf didn’t want mere survival. She wanted to dominate, and that meant seeing past fear, trusting her instincts over what her eyes perceived. The minute I opened the door, I felt her surge through me. “I’m not letting you go. I can’t. I’m conducting a murder investigation, and I believe your boy here just became my prime suspect.” My hands twitched, eager for a fight, and I realized how long it had been since Marcus and I had thrown down. Too long. Remember that whole thing about needing sex or violence to feed my inner wolf? Well, she was hungry and there was a whole lot of violence in Chad’s eyes. I welcomed it. I could feel the need rise like a wave threatening to engulf me. This was why I had a trainer in the first place. I gritted my teeth because Chad turned on his power. I could feel those fucking snakes climbing my legs and sinking their fangs into me. I refused to pay any attention to them despite the fact that I ached to rip the fuckers off me and toss them aside. To do that would have given the magician more power. If I bought into it, if I took my eyes off the only thing in the room that was real, I would end up like Casey, who was screaming like a girl. “Let me pass, Hunter,” Chad said. I stood my ground like the good Gandalf I was. Except I kind of wanted to shove my nonexistent staff right up old Chad’s ass, and then we would see if he sent snakes my way again. The anger rose, rapid and quick, a flash fire coursing through me. I didn’t even realize when I had reached for the fireplace poker. All I knew was it was suddenly in my hands and I was going to use it. I could see myself shoving that piece of wrought iron right through his heart. It wouldn’t kill him. I would need wood for that, but then again, I didn’t want the fight over so quickly. I raised the poker, ready to start. “Stop it, both of you.” Donovan stepped in between us, but I didn’t care at that moment. I hadn’t felt this way in forever, not since Marcus had taken me in. I hadn’t been so out of control that I didn’t care who I hurt as long as I got to hurt someone. I would fuck up Donovan, too. All that mattered was seeing blood, feeling bones crush. “You see, I told you she’s far gone and I can’t fix her anymore. I’ve called Gray and he has an idea of what to do,” Marcus was saying. I wasn’t listening. I started to bring the poker down Donovan’s way, but I was stopped in mid swing. A hand held my wrist, an arm going around my middle and hauling me back against muscled flesh. “Stop it,” Trent growled in my ear. “You stand down right this second.”           NY Times and USA Today bestselling author Lexi Blake lives in North Texas with her husband, three kids, and the laziest rescue dog in the world. New Release: DIGNITY by Jay Crownover!!

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Jay Crownover returns with the second title in her romantic suspense series, The Breaking Point, DIGNITY. Check out the excerpt below and grab your copy today!

EXCERPT
Protective and possessive instincts coiled around my gut and rage felt like it was going to choke me. I was so used to being cold and numb, I didn’t know what to do with the fire that was licking at my insides.
“I saw him take her out of the trunk when they got to the docks. He moved like a cop. Not the kind who is there to actually protect and serve, but the kind who pulls you over for no reason and slaps cuffs on you to prove a point. I was locked up for a lot of years, boy genius. I know what a dirty cop looks like. He had a busted-up nose and stitches on the side of his face. Should be pretty easy for Titus to identify him.”
Titus King was Bax’s half-brother and the only law enforcement officer in the entire city any of us slightly trusted. He was one of the few men the Point hadn’t tainted. He was a good guy, trying to do right by the people in our city, and he wouldn’t hesitate to throw Goddard’s dirty cop under the bus. But I didn’t want anyone going after the Mayor. His sadistic ass was all mine.
“Do you think they made it out of the container after you hit it with the truck?” That had been my idea. Nassir was only sending in Booker and Benny to get Noe out, but I didn’t think it was enough fire power. Since he refused to let me go, even siccing Chuck on me as a babysitter until the job was done, I made Benny go over the plan with me no less than a hundred times until I came up with a better one. Knocking the container sideways with one of the big semi-trucks that littered the area would give Benny the time he needed to get Noe out and distract the outside security detail enough that Booker could do his thing. It was a risk because the people inside the container—including Noe and Benny—might have ended up injured when the thing flipped, but the odds of them making it out were much higher than if Benny tried to take on everyone on his own.
“If Benny made it out, we won’t hear from him again. That was the deal he made with Nassir. He would get your girl and then disappear, so he can go and live happily ever after with his. As for the rest of them,” he shrugged, “I guess we’ll find out soon enough. Your girl said someone had a gun, so if they were shooting at Benny, he would do whatever he could to make sure they stopped. He’s not about to catch a bullet for any of us. I know you want that asshole alive for your own reasons, but honestly, it’s better if Benny popped him.”
It was better, but it wasn’t what I wanted. A bullet between the eyes was way too easy for a guy like Goddard. People would bemoan how bad the Point had become, how Goddard had been a staunch supporter of crime prevention measures. He would die a martyr and a legend. I couldn’t stand the thought of that. I wanted who Goddard was, who he really was, out in the open. I wanted his mansion doors flung wide open and every skeleton inside the walls exposed and thrown out on the perfectly manicured lawn for the entire world to see. I hated people who hid behind the law. I hated when men in any position of power got off on using their elevated status to jerk the helpless and hopeless around. Death wasn’t the answer. Devastation was.
I closed my eyes and squeezed the cold, still hand that was clasped in mine. Failure weighed heavy on my shoulders and fury lit up my blood like popping and sizzling firecrackers.
“When do we ever end up with anything that’s better for us?” That wasn’t how the Point worked. That wasn’t how we worked.
Booker grunted and I felt him move behind me. “It happens. It doesn’t seem like better should be able to find a foothold in this place, but despite all odds, it does."

About DIGNITY:

Looks can be deceiving.

I knew that most people took one look at the ink and the impossibly big and strong body it covered and decided I was a brawler…a bruiser…a beast. However, I was hardwired to be a thinker, not a fighter.

I should have chosen to use my brain and talents to be one of the good guys, a hero, a man with dignity and worth.

I turned my back on dignity and sold my soul to the highest bidder, deciding to dance with the devil, instead.

I couldn’t figure out how to help myself, so there was zero chance I knew how to save someone else.

That someone else was Noe Lee. She was the unkempt, unruly thief who was just as smart as I was and twice as street savvy. She was annoyingly adorable beneath the dirt and grime, and she was in trouble. In way over her head, I told myself it wasn’t my job to keep her from drowning. In the Point, it was sink or swim, and I wasn’t the designated lifeguard on duty.

I shut the door in her face, but now she’s gone…vanished…disappeared without a trace. It took less than a second for me to realize that I wanted her back.

When a woman comes along that melts all the frozen, hard things you’re made of; you’ll do anything you have to, to bring her home.

What you see is not always what you get…and with a man like me, what you get is more than anyone ever bargained for.

Review: SWEET TIME by Nina Lane!

My Review: I had to sleep on this one. If I had reviewed it instantly, I would have given it five stars. But giving myself some time to think about it, I realize it's not perfect. Of course it's not, no book is perfect, but I was in love with this one. And even after giving it some time, I still love it, I just realize it has flaws. I loved Gavin, and I loved Gavin and Mia's scenes together, specifically those that take place in the bedroom... or the kitchen, the living room.. wherever they are, really. They were hot together, and those scenes actually made me blush. Me! I read things darker and more twisted than this on a regular basis, but Gavin just did it for me, I guess.

My only issues with this book (and what might have made it a three star book, if not for the pure enjoyment factor that bumped it up to four), stemmed from how some of the characters acted. Mia is smart.. but there were moments where she was just ridiculously oblivious, and that was rough to read. Going along with that, there were moments where Gavin was almost condescending in the way he spoke to her. I know that's not what the author wanted to convey, but what he said made me frown a time or two. But these moments were few and far between, not to mention so very, very short. The rest of the book was a fun read. Sure, the villain may be more than a little obvious, but that doesn't mean it wasn't thrilling when it needed to be.

Cover Lovin': Can I just say how much I love the placement of the heart sucker? *snort*

Recommendation: This can work as a stand-alone. No prior knowledge required.

Final Rating: FOUR out of FIVE stars (4/5)! This was a tough one for me to rate. There were definitely some moments of three-star-ness, but overall, this book was hot and fun, so I think it deserves four stars.

Happy Reading!

Stuck in a boring insurance job, vivacious Mia Donovan has spent the last few years searching for her life's true path. She fills her time helping plan the wedding of her best friend to the CEO of the Sugar Rush Candy Company.

Mia has also been trying to attract the impossibly rigid Sugar Rush security chief Gavin Knight. But for well over a year, the unyielding Mr. Knight has ignored her, despite her short skirts, tight sweaters, and patently obvious flirting. And when he finally approaches her, it's only to assess the wedding plans for potential security risks.

A former soldier, Gavin has intercepted hostile anonymous letters threatening the high-profile wedding. Determined to keep everyone safe, he's forced to work with the maddeningly sexy Miss Donovan of the thousand-watt charm and irresistible body.

Irked by Gavin's many months of disregard, Mia takes her teasing flirtations to a whole new level. But her coquettish ways are no match for the edgy, lust-fueled dominant he conceals behind his impassive exterior. And when Gavin exerts his full control, Mia discovers he can protect everything except her heart.

A smile curved her mouth. She stretched one leg over him and straddled his waist. With her nipples poking out of her bra, her skin flushed and her hair a waterfall of gold, he could have stared at her for hours if he weren’t about to implode with lust. He pinched her rosy nipples and twisted the strap of her bra. “Take this off,” he ordered. “I want you naked.” She shed her bra, revealing her perfect round breasts. She braced her hands on the mattress and leaned in to kiss him deeply, her tongue tracing the line of his lips. He slid his hands down to grasp her ass, working one finger between her cheeks. She inhaled sharply, but didn’t protest, arching her back like she wanted more. He’d give her more. And despite her willingness, it might be more than she could handle. More than she could take. “Wait,” she whispered, wiggling back so she was straddling his thighs. “Where are the condoms?” “Drawer in the nightstand.” She reached over to retrieve one and took her sweet time sheathing his dick. By the time she was done, his teeth were clenched from the light, tickling touch of her fingers. He grasped her hips. “Ride me.” Mia bit her lip, a flush rising to her cheekbones. For a second he thought she’d decline, but she lifted herself up, her hand circling the base of his cock as she positioned herself. Then she sank onto him, and the world exploded into the hot, tight clench of her pussy, the sound of her low groan, the clench of her knees around his hips. A flash of pain crossed her face before it was replaced with heavy lust. Heat sizzled through the air. She curled her fingers into his chest and started to move. “Oh my God.” Her breath grew fast, her astonished gaze still holding his. “I feel you so deep, all the way up here.” She pressed one hand to her belly and shifted again, working her gorgeous body up and down on his cock. He dug his fingers into her hips. His jaw clenched to the point of pain. He fought the urge to thrust, to drive them both to the edge. She was a fucking goddess, her tits bouncing, her body flexing and writhing, sweat glistening on her skin. “Faster.” He bit out the order, his blood on fire. She leaned forward, her hair falling in curtains on either side of her face, her little panting breaths puffing against his neck. Her eyes darkened with hunger and urgency. “I need it, Gavin,” she whispered, her teeth capturing her lower lip again. “I need to come with you inside me, hard and deep and… oh God…” “That’s right.” He grabbed her waist and thrust upward, needing to be inside her as far as he could. “Get yourself off… Christ, you’re incredible, all soft tight heat… you’re going to jerk me off, cover your little pussy with my come…” A shudder rocked through her. She braced her hands on his chest and moved faster. Breathy cries came from her parted lips. “I want you to do it first,” she gasped, sliding up and down his cock like a well-oiled piston. “Mark me.” She moved off him before he could stop her, her chest heaving as she slid back to sit on his thighs. She rolled the condom off his erection and stroked, her tapered fingers moving up and down his aching shaft, her thumb caressing the swollen crown. “Do it, Gavin.” Her voice was husky and threaded with anticipation. “Come on my pussy. Give me everything you have.” “Ah, shit.” Every part of him tensed. Fiery pressure built. He gripped her smooth thighs and thrust into her fist. “So goddamned close… harder… now… .fuck.” Heat exploded through him, jets of come splashing over her belly. She gasped, her fist still working his dick until the sensations ebbed. He groaned, sinking against the pillows. “That’s so fucking sexy,” she whispered, releasing him only to slide her fingers through the mess coating her skin. “I love how you feel on me.” “Get yourself off for me.” He stroked his hands up and down her smooth, damp thighs. “I want to watch you.” Shivering, she slipped one hand between her legs and brought the other to her breasts. She twisted her pink nipple and worked her fingers on her clit. Much as he wanted to delve his fingers into her slippery heat again, he restrained himself from reaching for her. He couldn’t take his eyes off the sight of her touching herself, her body sleek and soft. She threw her head back, her hair spilling over her shoulders. Moaning, she moved her fingers more frantically, her body tensing with need. “Gavin,” she gasped. “I feel it… I still feel you… oh God, I’m going to… ah!” A high, keening cry broke from her throat as her body shook, her hand still rubbing her clit. Fucking gorgeous sight, spearing him with fresh lust. “Oh fuck.” She groaned, collapsing on top of him in a hot, sweet bundle of softness. “That was amazing. My ass is still sore from your hand, and I swear that made me come even harder.” He gave a short laugh. Yeah, he’d lost the battle all right. He was about to lose the whole fucking war. And never before had he wanted to surrender.       New York Times & USA Today bestselling author Nina Lane writes hot, sexy romances about professors, bad boys, candy makers, and protective alpha males who find themselves consumed with love for one woman alone. Review: DIRTY LITTLE PROMISE by Kendall Ryan!

My Review: Okay, I don't know what to do with this one. I'm torn. I loved the first book, gave it five stars. And there are parts of this book that felt just as good. But there were more parts that made this one feel like the author lost her way. I really want to list my issues, but I won't do that to you guys - I refuse to spoil things for other readers. I will say - what the heck is up with Sonja? That storyline was just... so out of left field.

As great as Emma and Gavin's relationship was to read about in book one, it just felt awkward in this book. Like all the plot twists thrown at them were either dumb/came out of nowhere, or were resolved too quickly. But there were still some good points. Kendall Ryan knows how to write the steamy scenes, and she doesn't fail to deliver - in fact, I don't think she can write a scene that doesn't fog up my glasses. And the relationship between the brothers remains complex enough that I'm desperate for more. Cooper! I need more Cooper.

Cover Lovin': Yum!

Recommendation: This is a direct sequel. You *NEED* to read book one, Dirty Little Secret, first.

Final Rating: THREE out of FIVE stars (3/5)! Good, but felt like the plot itself was confused. I'm addicted enough to the family to be desperate for more, so there's clearly something special about the series.

Happy Reading!

The start to a sexy new series from New York Times bestselling author, Kendall Ryan...   She’s much too innocent for me, but that doesn’t stop me from wanting the sweet, young librarian. I’m dominating and possessive, and my control streak runs a mile wide. The way she looks at me—like I’m one of the heroes in the books she loves, like I’m broken, and she wants to be the one to piece me back together—it only complicates things further. I’m nobody’s hero. But there’s no denying my tragic past reads like one of her favorite literary classics. It’s raw. Visceral. Captivating. And together, we’re a perfect mess. How am I expected to resist when the sexual sparks zap between us and set me on fire? The need to control, and claim her force my walls to come tumbling down, but when she learns my dirty little secret, will my world come crashing down with it?   Amazon | iBooks | Nook | Kobo     A New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today bestselling author of more than two dozen titles, Kendall Ryan has sold over 1.5 million books and her books have been translated into several languages in countries around the world.
